Map of Philosophy

About the Map of Philosophy

This map is an interactive guide to major philosophers across traditions, eras, and schools of thought. Each point represents a thinker positioned either by how they are connected in the influence network (“Influence” view) or by the semantics of their core ideas (“Semantic” view).

Use the “Map” selector to switch between views, “Color by” to highlight different dimensions (era, tradition, topics, etc.), and search to jump directly to a particular philosopher. Clicking a philosopher opens a panel with core teachings, historical context, and key works.

The goal is not to be exhaustive, but to offer a readable, comparative overview of philosophical thought as an ongoing, interconnected conversation.
